Hey everyone,

I’m excited for the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Cody Smith, and I’m the owner and founder of Smith Grading.

I was born and raised in Ooltewah, Tennessee, and after graduating from Ooltewah High School, I dedicated my career to the construction and excavation industry. Growing up around heavy equipment and spending years in the field gave me the experience and passion to build a company that takes pride in doing things the right way.

Volunteer Energy Cooperative contacted us yesterday to help clear an access road off Highway 58 after illegal dumping blocked entry to a power distribution box. During the recent storm, utility crews were unable to safely access the area, causing delays in restoring power to local homeowners.

We pushed out over 8-10 dump trailer loads of materials. Top soil , asphalt millings, concrete, fill dirt, you name it - it was there !

Needless to say be careful who you hire
And if you are illegally dumping just stop.
spend the extra time or money to properly dispose of the material

Installed a drainage ditch down in Browns Ferry today to help control neighboring runoff water.
Instead of spending thousands of dollars on French drain systems, we got together with the neighbors, came up with a plan that would help control the water run off of 3 houses
for a fraction of the cost.
