SCAM ESTIMATES? NOT TODAY!

Let me make something perfectly clear.

If you're a legitimate homeowner needing a roof estimate, ABSOLUTELY! I'll gladly come inspect your roof, answer your questions, and give you an honest estimate.

But if your request sounds like it was copied and pasted from the same scammer handbook that's been circulating for the last decade, YOU'VE GOT THE WRONG ROOFER!

"I'm out of town, but I need an estimate."

"I can't meet you at the property."

A suspicious story that changes every time I ask a question.

Someone who can't verify they're actually authorized to have work performed.

A sudden argument when I start asking perfectly reasonable questions.

NOPE. NOT PLAYING THAT GAME.

In 10 years of operating Rocky Top Roofing Inc., I've received a TON of fraudulent estimate requests.

And wouldn't you know it? I JUST HAD ANOTHER ONE TODAY!

This one actually had the nerve to CALL ME, then ARGUE with me while desperately trying to convince me the request was legitimate.

Buddy, if your story needs that much defending, you've already lost me.

Here's what makes this especially interesting.

ELEVEN YEARS AGO, I almost fell for this exact same type of scam.

The request looked legitimate enough. There was a house. There was a roof. There was supposedly a homeowner wanting work done.

But something didn't sit right.

So instead of blindly chasing a paycheck, I called the number on the yard sign.

THAT ONE PHONE CALL SAVED ME FROM REPLACING A ROOF FOR SOMEONE WHO HAD NO BUSINESS AUTHORIZING THE WORK.

Eleven years later, these people are STILL running variations of the same garbage.

And here's the scary part.

Somewhere out there is a desperate contractor, possibly unlicensed, hungry for work, who will jump at the opportunity without asking a single question.

They'll see dollar signs instead of red flags.

And one day, somebody is going to learn a VERY expensive lesson.

AT ROCKY TOP ROOFING INC., WE DON'T JUST INSPECT ROOFS. WE VERIFY WHO WE'RE DEALING WITH.

I don't care how big the job is. I don't care how much money you claim you're ready to spend.

IF THE STORY DOESN'T ADD UP, NEITHER WILL MY ESTIMATE.

Legitimate homeowners deserve professional service. Legitimate contractors deserve protection from fraud.

And scammers?

YOU CAN TAKE YOUR COPY-AND-PASTE ROOF ESTIMATE REQUESTS SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I’LL SHOW YOU MINE IF YOU’LL SHOW ME YOURS! 😏
Almost 10 years ago, Rocky Top Roofing started this fun little adventure.
Five renewals later, ours is still ACTIVE.
Tennessee Home Improvement Contractor #8430
Expires October 31, 2028. 2028 Rocky Top License
So we thought we’d start a fun little challenge for Chattanooga-area roofers:
We showed you ours. Now show us yours!
Post your current contractor license.
No sales pitch.
No excuses.
No “we’ve been roofing for 20 years.”
Just show the license.
We’re genuinely curious how many local “roofers” would accept the challenge...
…and how many would suddenly lose their internet connection.
Rocky Top Roofing, Inc.
Licensed. Local. And apparently willing to show ours in public.

BIG COMPANY DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN BETTER ROOFING.

When a roofing company has locations scattered across multiple cities or states, you may be dealing with a business built around expansion, sales volume, and moving to the next market.

Your roof deserves something different.

Rocky Top Roofing Inc. is Chattanooga local. We live here. We work here. Our reputation is built here. And when the job is finished, we’re still here.

Why homeowners choose local:

✅ Local ownership and accountability

✅ Knowledge of Tennessee weather and local requirements
✅ Clear communication before, during, and after the job
✅ A local reputation we have to protect every single day
✅ 9+ years serving our community

A roof isn’t something you buy every year. It protects your home, your family, and one of the biggest investments you’ll ever make.

Don’t just ask how many locations a roofer has.
Ask how long they’ve been YOUR local roofer.

THE SUMMER HEAT DIDN’T JUST BEAT UP YOU… IT BEAT UP YOUR ROOF TOO.

After months of intense heat and direct sun, asphalt shingles can become brittle, lose granules, curl, crack, and experience accelerated aging. Some of that damage isn’t obvious from the driveway.

That’s why NOW is a great time to have your roof inspected.

Before fall storms, colder temperatures, and winter weather arrive, let us check for small problems that could turn into expensive leaks later.

This transformation is !!!!!WOW!!!!!

Next month will be our 10 year anniversary. A lot of roofs has happened in the last 10 years. I must say, this roof with new gutters popped like most don't. Watching the homeowner's face light up when she saw it after the gutters were done makes me proud of what we do here!
