We are seeing a lot of people looking for someone to pressure wash their decks -
Your deck is dirty. We get it! Please don’t automatically reach for the pressure washer or let someone convince you this is the way to clean it.
One of the fastest ways to shorten the life of a wood deck is cleaning it too aggressively.
High-pressure washing can tear into the softer fibers of the wood, leaving the surface rough, fuzzy and more porous. It can also cause splintering, gouging and premature deterioration and once those wood fibers are damaged, you can’t simply “wash” them back into place.
The better approach?
Clean the deck based on the type and condition of the wood.
That means using the appropriate deck cleaner, allowing it time to do the work, gently agitating when needed, and rinsing with controlled, appropriate pressure rather than trying to blast years of dirt away.
A deck is an investment.
Maintaining it correctly helps protect the wood, extends its life and keeps it looking better for years to come.
At APSquared, we’re not just interested in building beautiful outdoor spaces, we want to help you take care of them, too.
Sometimes more pressure isn’t better.
The right process is and gives you your outdoor space for many years to come.
