This is the original concept design for one of my favorite builds, "Somnambulist." I was 3 months postpartum and contracted by the historical Chattanooga ChooChoo to design and fabricate their holiday installation, complete carte blanche. The final snowflake was 9.5' tall, five layers of CNC cut 3/4" sandeply. The name and walkway arches were inspired by "The Cabinet of Dr Caligari" I named it Somnambulist moreso due to the fact that I barely slept for a month and a half during the build. This build tested me on every level and I was a fresh mom, I made it through to the other side. I couldn't have done it without a few friends Kevin McCurdy, Michael Mulloy, Moth, W Scott Morrison, Kalah Louise Klemm Morrison and my co-designer fabricator Dmitry Yakovenko.

A sad, sad, sad part of what I do, is a little thing called an NDA. For those of you that don't know what that means, it's a silly legal document that prevents me from boasting about all the super freaking awesome things I build. So since I'm unable to gab about and/or share the one of a kind rad fabrication and behind the scenes content, I'm sharing one of my favorite designs and fabrications just to show signs of life. It's good to be building, learning, testing myself and being proud of my work. Just wish I could share more of it. Maybe one day. For now. You get past builds and my über enthusiastic ramblings because OMG I can't wait to get back into the shop in the morning. AHHHH how am I supposed to sleep with so much excitement!?
