This 9/11 anniversary is hitting harder than most.

Twenty-five years ago today, we were working on the University of Virginia Credit Union on Pantops. We were on our Motorola radios, going about what should have been an ordinary workday, when everything changed.

We remember the confusion. The disbelief. The radio traffic. And slowly realizing that what we were hearing and watching was something that would change our country forever.

September 11th is one of those days where you remember exactly where you were and what you were doing.

Today, we remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost, the families who were changed forever, and the firefighters, police officers, first responders, and ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage.

We will never forget.

God Bless America.

M3, Inc. mourns the loss of Wallace Randolph Bruce of Scottsville, Virginia, who passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2026, at the age of 75.

Wallace was employed with M3, Inc. as a Foreman and Brick Mason from 2000 until his retirement in 2017. Known for his strength, skill, and grit, Wallace was a valued team member and admired by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Following his retirement, Wallace relocated to Buckingham County, settling near Brickyard Bulls Ranch, where he remained active and maintained close connections with Justin Thompson, Pete Kingrea, and Shane and Hunter Marshall. He enjoyed participating in ranch activities and often returned to Charlottesville to visit friends at the M3, Inc. office.

Per his obituary (https://www.hillandwood.com/obituaries/Wallace-Bruce?obId=48049177) Wallace’s family will receive friends at Hill & Wood Funeral Home in Charlottesville on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

Wallace will be deeply missed, and we dedicate portions of the poem “The Bricklayer” to his memory:

“Perhaps he gave his best of years
To laying brick on brick,
In patient toil from day to day,
With trowel sure and quick.
Yet all he built was not in vain—
Each wall and path and place,
Stands as a quiet testament
To strength, to skill, to grace.”

Rest in Peace, Wallace.
