Like its name, Alloy Architecture and Construction is an unusual combination of disciplines that give the company greater strength. “To actually have a licensed architect and contracting abilities is pretty unique,” says Zach Snider, the firm’s owner and construction manager.

“We put an emphasis on our customer experience. Having an architectural emphasis also means Alloy can provide a more complete—and accurate—bid. “We go through a rigid and well-defined design process that leads to a full set of drawings and spec list,” Snider says. But Alloy’s real success comes down to the culture Snider and Zimmerman have created. The two put an emphasis on training, encouraging architects to get and keep licenses and contractors to get NARI certifications. Along with a standard benefit package the company gives “Swarms”—work parties that do things like build decks—to the the worker they hit performance targets. From concept to completion, our team is there for it all.

What started as a dated kitchen and segmented breakfast room transformed into a warm, open layout tailored to the rhythms of family life. By bringing architecture and construction under one roof through our architect-led design-build approach, we turned initial concepts into a home designed for how this family actually lives.

Our clients had two simple goals for this bathroom: plan for the years ahead and say goodbye to the outdated wallpaper in favor of more tile. We loved bringing both ideas to life!

We designed the space with aging in place in mind, including a curbless shower, thoughtfully placed grab bars, elevated sinks, and an easy-access bathtub. We also found creative ways to add storage by using space behind the walls, incorporating storage into a custom window seat, and creating a custom-fit vanity and mirror frames.

The result is a bathroom that feels beautiful, comfortable, and incredibly functional today, with the flexibility to grow with our clients for years to come.

A little more tile, a lot less wallpaper, and a whole lot more thoughtful design.

With 13 years of experience at his dad’s firm, 2H Builders, Isaac brings a lifetime of craftsmanship to our architect-led design build process. You could say it is in his blood: his dad taught him how to build, his mom passed down the creative spark, and he has been bringing spaces to life ever since.

When you’re surrounded by an innovative and passionate team of architects and builders, you sort of have to have an expertly crafted and thoughtfully designed home. That’s how Zach’s Oxford Road renovation came to be..

After realizing the second story of his home wasn’t quite large enough for his growing family, he decided to take it down and build a brand-new one in its place. And along the way, why not expand the kitchen into the former screened porch, add a sauna, and reimagine nearly every other room in the house?

The footprint of the house and some of the character (like the star on the front of the house) remains the same preserving its fit within the style of the neighborhood, even though the square footage nearly doubled. Most importantly, that extra square footage gives his two kids room to grow and spread out. That includes prime structural clearance for floor-to-ceiling fort building, even if couch cushion walls were technically not on the official floor plan.

Alloy brought this space to life with support of the real, energetic moments of everyday family living.
