American Forest Management, Inc. Helping landowners manage, sell, buy and enjoy millions of acres of land for 60 years. AFM Real Estate is a subsidiary of American Forest Management.

At American Forest Management, we’ve been helping landowners like you manage, sell, buy, improve, and enjoy millions of acres of land for over 50 years. We remain keenly focused on our vision of making ownership more rewarding by helping people explore the full potential of their land. We are humbled by the over 1,200 clients who entrust us to be advisors and stewards of their land. Over 5.5 milli

on acres of it, in fact. This is a great responsibility and we take it personally, but never for granted. Clients like these have made us the largest land consulting and real estate brokerage firm in the United States. With hundreds of employees in offices across U.S., we’re able to provide our landowners with individualized local services while leveraging the vast technical resources of our national company. But don’t let our size scare you. We treat all landowners, large or small, with the same level of care and respect. Regardless of size, we’re fully invested in your land with you. In our way of thinking, we’re in this together.

Why should someone work with AFM rather than managing their land themselves?

David Cole, retired Managing Director of Northern Operations: “They become part of a larger team that has the expertise in every area of forest management. There’s always someone available that a forester can rely on to help create a better solution for the client.”

Chuck Mathis, Managing Director of Southern Operations: “Our knowledge. If you don’t sell timber on a daily basis, it’s hard to know what’s going on in the market and what’s changing in the industry. If you don’t know something’s value, it’s hard to know if you’re being treated fairly or getting a good or reasonable price for your timber. Being involved in the market allows us to offer clients a benefit they probably can’t get on their own.”
We would be honored to leverage our knowledge and expertise to help you meet the goals and objectives of your forest land. Reach out to us today to learn more!

Aww, look at this baby! Josh Murphy, Forester in Lufkin, TX, spotted this adorable fawn on a client property outside of Glendale, TX, in Trinity County. While they may seem vulnerable and all alone, Mom is probably nearby, keeping a close watch, so don’t worry about staging a rescue mission. Just enjoy the chance encounter!

Last September, we announced our new scholarship opportunity for our 2026 summer interns. Today, we’re pleased to share that Jude Bailey, a student at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, is our scholarship recipient!

Daniel Hunter (Jude's supervisor and District Manager in Folkston, GA) shared, “Jude has been a dependable, hardworking, and positive addition to the Folkston team. His willingness to learn, take initiative, and assist wherever needed has made him a valuable intern. He works well with others, accepts direction and feedback professionally, and consistently looks for ways to remain productive. As he continues developing his forestry knowledge and gaining field experience, I believe he has strong potential for future success in the industry.”

Congratulations, Jude! We can't wait to see what you do next!

This majestic bird is none other than a Great Blue Heron, known for gracefully stalking their prey and slowly moving through the water before striking like lightning. They rely on wetlands for feeding and live in saltwater and freshwater habitats. Great Blue Herons have also benefited from the recovery of beaver populations, as America’s favorite architects have created areas that are well-suited for nesting and foraging.
