Pineville Fire Department celebrated the opening of their new headquarters on Tuesday amongst Town of Pineville leaders, local fire departments, and the Pineville firefighters and their families. In lieu of a traditional ribbon cutting, Chief Mike Gerin, Mayor Rev. Ameila Stinson-Wesley, and the building committee uncoupled a hose in front of one of the new bays.

The new 28,000 SF headquarters features a 5.5 apparatus bay, offices, kitchen, dayroom, sleep room, gym, storage, and training tower. Several areas in the building honor Pineville’s long history with historic ladders, awards, and equipment.

Designed to provide the fastest response time, the building features a total of seven miles of low voltage cable to accommodate communication and security systems. 33,000 concrete blocks support the structure of the building, weighing the same as six blue whales. Most importantly, the project finished with zero injuries.

REPI celebrated the grand opening of the expansion of heir manufacturing facility in Gastonia surrounded by employees and community members. The expansion required 158 pieces of precast for a total weight of 4,283,000 pounds.

Edifice Construction ensured the on-going manufacturing onsite was not interrupted with extensive preplanning including engaging the permitting office early to explain project needs and goals; coordination meetings with the owner daily and weekly to plan the best times for major shutdowns, and collaborating with subcontractors on measures maintain operating hours.

Steel is rising in North Charleston!

The Barton Malow | Edifice Construction joint venture team has reached a major milestone at Roper St. Francis Healthcare's future Roper Hospital campus, with structural steel work now underway.

The 805,000 SF facility will serve the Lowcountry community with 328 inpatient beds, a 47-bay emergency department, 18 operating rooms, and more, all on a 27-acre campus designed to feel as healing as the care delivered within.

Completion is targeted for 2029, and we're excited to see this project take shape!

St. John Neumann Catholic Church broke ground in March on a new church; including a parish hall with a full service kitchen and a vaulted 800-seat nave. The church invited all parishioners to participate by bringing their own shovels to share in the ceremonial first dig. The church will share the same campus as St. John Neumann School, creating a unified campus for operations, while also requiring complex site logistics and close coordination throughout the course of construction.

We're making great progress on the new Sanford City Hall Annex! This week, the Mayor, members of the city council, and other city staff signed the ceremonial steel beam, which will be incorporated into the building's structure.

In addition to housing customer service functions including the bill pay, the zoning and building inspections, and the engineering departments, the new City Hall Annex will offer exciting outdoor recreational amenities. The facility's on-site park will feature ample greenspace, a half mile greenway with a multi-use path, a variety of event and gathering spaces, and a splash pad. We are grateful to be part of this project that will serve the growing Sanford community.

Last week, HEYCO Werk USA celebrated the grand opening of their new manufacturing facility in Dallas, NC with a FIFA World Cup themed event.

Designed for high-precision injection-molded plastics serving the automotive industry, this facility showcases what’s possible when global manufacturing expertise meets thoughtful construction. Guests experienced live manufacturing demonstrations, seeing the equipment and processes in action, and explored a space that blends industrial performance with design, including a fully art-driven interior and the largest indoor mural in North Carolina.

We’re grateful to have partnered on a project that reflects innovation, craftsmanship, and global connection and honored to be part of a facility built for what’s next.
