🥒🌿 48 pounds of fresh goodness harvested this morning! 🌿🥒

With lots of love, care, and a whole lot of sweat (because this Carolina heat has definitely been heating 🔥), we harvested 48 pounds of cucumbers, zucchini, squash, red lettuce, and Swiss chard from ZEN's Garden today🙌🏽💪🏾💚

The best part? This harvest is headed straight to our Mobile Market, where it will help bring fresh, locally grown produce to families in our community.

Every harvest is a reminder of what can happen when a community grows with purpose. 💚

Join ZEN at the Keith Family YMCA from 2:00 PM–4:00 PM for FREE fresh produce and nutritious food items, available while supplies last.
We encourage everyone to arrive early, as food is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and supplies go quickly!

🌎🌱 Happy World Environment Day! 🌱🌎

Today, we celebrate the power of growing locally, caring for our environment, and cultivating healthier communities. At ZEN, our communal garden is doing just that—providing fresh, nutritious produce while connecting people to the land and each other.

Last weekend we harvested:

🥬 7.98 lbs of radishes
🥬 1.92 lbs of spinach
🥬 0.84 lbs of kale
🥬 5.08 lbs of Bibb lettuce
🥬 4.04 lbs of head lettuce
🥒 5.00 lbs of zucchini & squash

🌿 Total Harvest: 24.86 lbs of fresh produce! 🌿

Every seed planted, every vegetable harvested, and every hand that helps in the garden contributes to a healthier environment and a stronger, more food-secure community. On this World Environment Day, we’re proud to celebrate the impact that sustainable growing practices can have right here in our neighborhoods.

Together, we’re growing more than food—we’re growing hope, wellness, and a greener future for all. 💚

⚡️BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT ZEN’S GARDEN! ⚡️

Another major step happened in May as the electrical work officially began to our Outdoor Kitchen! 🙌🏾

What started as a dream is slowly becoming a reality. Soon, this space will be used to host Food 101 classes, cooking demonstrations, youth programs, community workshops, and hands-on opportunities that help families learn how to prepare healthy meals using fresh ingredients grown right here in the garden.

Every wire, every connection, and every improvement brings us one step closer to creating a space where education, nutrition, and community come together.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported this vision through volunteering, donating, sharing our mission, and believing in the work we do. 💚

The harvest doesn't stop at growing food...we're growing knowledge, confidence, and healthier communities.
