Megan and Ian’s wedding reception at Serenity Ridge 💜🌅

Back in June, Megan reached out to me about 72 hours prior to her wedding date, and the timing turned out to be serendipitous! My night with Megan and Ian at Serenity Ridge was the final push I needed to decide to fully invest in live painting as a business. Since then, I have had the opportunity to connect with so many more sweet couples and vendors! I will always be thankful for the first few couples who trusted me with their day (you know who you are 😉).

Serenity Ridge is one of my favorite venues— I can’t say enough great things about them! The musicians were so fun, and the staff and guests were so interactive. I really had a wonderful time painting for this sweet couple. 💜

“My Father’s World”— This is a mini gouache painting I made last semester as a study for a big piece I eventually want to make. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to show multiple images on one surface which reminded me of this little piece.

When I was a little girl living in the low country of South Carolina I memorized “This Is My Father’s World” from a hymnal in the parsonage we lived in. I’ve always loved the imagery in it, and I still say it to myself whenever I see something beautiful. This painting is inspired from it.

This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears,
All nature sings, and round me rings
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white,
Declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;
He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father’s world. O let me never forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world: The battle is not done;
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and heaven be one.

I had so much fun painting this graduation present commission for a talented actress and childhood friend! Each costume pictured here represents a role she played in college. This is such a sweet, personal gift idea, and I really loved the challenge of getting each costume and character just right! ✨

So excited to share that I am one booking away from reaching my goal for 2026!! I have room for ONE more event in September— after that space is filled, I will be taking bookings for Spring/Summer 2027 only!!

Recently, I have had the opportunity to paint live at the weddings of two lovely couples, one near the Charlotte / Rock Hill area and the other in the Gaffney / Spartanburg area. I had a wonderful time at both weddings, learned a lot, and I have decided that I am going to pursue Live Event Painting as a profession. Since I have one more year before I graduate with my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Winthrop University, my most free months are June—August.

This is why I am offering a highly discounted price for the next two couples to book a Live Wedding Painting at a wedding occurring June—August 2026. The average cost of a live painting *starts* around $1,600 (and most prices reach much much higher), but I will be offering less than half of that as the starting price for the next two weddings booked in these next few months. (Please reach out for details! Travel is possible, depending on distance!)

If you are a couple who is getting married after August, please don’t hesitate to reach out— my prices will still be discounted from the average wedding painting cost after August, as I will be working to build my portfolio so I can pursue this professionally post graduation! Similarly, I am offering commissioned wedding paintings for couples who have gotten married in the past and want a painting to remember that day. Grandparents, relatives, and friends of an engaged couple could consider a wedding painting as a unique group gift (with permission from the couple if it is a live painting, of course).
