Yesterday marks the 25th anniversary to the day of purchasing A&W Electric. To say it has been a wild ride is an understatement. It is a huge achievement on the part of our teammates past and present. We thank them for the years of service and hard work. We also thank our customers for their loyalty and patience and our vendor partners for their service. You are the reason we do what we do. Thank you!

Three years ago we moved our shop to get more space. We have already outgrown it thanks to you!
We are not moving again but adding space to better serve you!
Introducing our additional location at 2311 b distribution center drive in Charlotte. Housing our administrative and electrical teams we will also have space for additional services. Coming soon
Conference space for up to 20 customers for lunch n learns, seminars ,etc.
Space for large spare motor storage including periodic inspection, shaft rotation, meter testing, and space heaters if desired.

Stay tuned as we pursue additional offerings to maintain and improve your electrical infrastructure, production machinery, and the rotating equipment t that supports it!

Our repair shop remains less than 2 miles away at 4112 Pine Grove Circle.

Continuing to grow in order to serve you! We are please to announce the acquisition of American MTS out of Monroe NC. As we join forces, A&W customers will see increased service offerings in Asset Management and Condition Monitoring through our RAMS (Reliable Asset Monitoring System), In house Servo Motor Repair, and in house transformer services. A&W will be gaining about 100 years of combined electro-mechanical technical expertise.
American MTS customers will experience enhanced Field and Site services, onsite Electrical with our incredible Electrical Projects team, and significant inventory of ABB Baldor, WEG, and Techtop motors along with installation, service of variable Frequency Drives.
This combination of expanded service offering and talent allows us to take a huge step in our ultimate goal of being the premier provider of Industrial Electrical Equipment and Service in the Southeast. Technical Excellence: 250HP DC Motor Reassembly

Notice the shiny copper on the armature. Turning, undercutting, cleaning, and polishing your armature will minimize brush arcing and create the most efficient transfer of energy from your DC Drive to your DC Motor.

Make sure to properly “seat” brushes, and by all means load test your DC Motors before placing them back in service!
