🌟 September Employee Spotlight: Addison (AT) Simpson! 📸

Meet Addison "AT," Regional Manager at our Indianapolis, IN office!

An Indianapolis native, AT joined McFarland a year and a half ago and has been instrumental in our growth in the Midwest. He has helped build and lead our new Indy team and works closely with our clients across the region.

"Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and tailgating, and watching my daughter play travel soccer," says AT.

Strengthening the bridge between our field and office teams is something we work toward every day.

Last month, we kicked off our new Lunch Box Talk series! Each month, we’ll bring members of our office team out to one of our job sites to tour the project, learn more about the work happening in the field, and break bread together while discussing the job.

For our first Lunch Box Talk, we visited Charlotte Fire Department, Charlotte NC Fire Station 47 at Charlotte Douglas International Airport - CLT, a joint venture project with JE Dunn Construction.

We’re looking forward to getting our teams out in the field, learning from one another, and continuing to build stronger connections across McFarland!

Every day we check our gear, our harnesses, and our ladders, but are we checking in with our team?

In construction, we face serious risks on the job site, but not every danger is visible. Taking a moment to check in with a coworker, ask how they’re doing, and let them know it’s okay to speak up can make a difference.

Look out for your team. And if you need someone to talk to, speak up. You don’t have to face it alone.

The quarterly clean of our adopted street, Forest Point Blvd, has been completed!

Through Keep Charlotte Beautiful’s Adopt a Street program, neighborhoods, businesses, families, and individuals can make a positive impact in their community by adopting a section of a City Street. This initiative encourages residents, community groups, and businesses to help keep Charlotte clean by adopting at least one mile of roadway and working to keep it litter-free.

Our 3,234 SF Wallbrook Bank Branch project for a private financial client is underway!

Steel has been erected, and framing is nearly complete. We can’t wait to watch this project come to life over the next few weeks!

Another topping out in the books! 🏗️

Guilford County Schools Sumner Elementary project recently celebrated a major milestone with its topping out ceremony, marking the placement of the project’s tallest steel beam.

We’re proud to celebrate this achievement alongside our joint venture partner, Vannoy Construction, and the entire project team. Here’s to many more milestones ahead!

As Construction Su***de Prevention Week comes to an end, our teams across our offices wore teal or purple, the colors of su***de awareness ribbons, as a simple, visible way to show our support.

How We Build Matters isn’t just about the projects we build. It’s about how we treat each other along the way. Mental health matters just as much as physical safety on our jobsites, and neither is something we should have to face alone.
