This screened porch was thoughtfully designed for year-round comfort and effortless entertaining. The warmth of the natural wood ceiling pairs beautifully with the stone feature wall surrounding the Wolf Sub-Zero gas grill and custom vent hood, creating a striking focal point that is both functional and inviting.

Granite countertops provide generous prep and serving space, while Infratech heaters allow homeowners to enjoy the porch long after the temperatures begin to cool. Every material and detail was selected to create an outdoor room that is just as comfortable for a quiet family dinner as it is for hosting friends.

Every meaningful transformation starts with understanding who the space is for.

This is our starting point at Wings of Eagles Ranch, where weโ€™re honored to be designing one of five new cabins as part of NARI of Greater Charlotteโ€™s Passion Project.

These cabins will provide a place for families to stay while experiencing the Ranchโ€™s therapeutic outdoor recreational programs for children and adults with disabilities. Our role is to take this blank space and thoughtfully turn it into a comfortable, welcoming retreat that supports the families who will call it home during their time here.

A built-in desk provides a comfortable spot for homework, working from home, or managing household tasks, while floor-to-ceiling cabinetry keeps supplies, paperwork, craft materials, and everyday clutter neatly tucked away.

The best rooms aren't designed for just one purpose. They're designed to evolve with your family's needs, making everyday life feel a little more organized and a lot less stressful.

As your family settles into the new school year, having a dedicated place for everyone to work, create, and stay organized can make all the difference.

One of my favorite spaces to design for families is the drop zone because it's where daily routines begin and end. A thoughtfully designed space can make busy mornings run smoother, keep afternoons organized, and help prevent the rest of your home from becoming the family's landing pad.

Swipe through to see a few of my favorite drop zones. While each one looks different, they all share the same goal: creating a place for everything while complementing the style of the home.

Some feature closed cabinetry to tuck away backpacks and seasonal gear. Others incorporate open shelving, built-in benches, or custom storage designed around the way each family lives. There isn't one perfect design. The best drop zone is the one that fits your family's routine.

One of my favorite features in this kitchen is the custom range alcove.

Rather than treating the range wall as a flat surface, we designed an architectural niche that gives this everyday workspace a sense of importance. The soft curves frame the cooking area, while the full-height stone creates a dramatic backdrop that draws your eye the moment you enter the room.

Beyond its beauty, a range alcove helps define the cooking zone within an open-concept kitchen. It creates visual separation without interrupting the flow, allowing the kitchen to feel both expansive and thoughtfully organized.

This year's WIN (Women in NARI) Passion Project is helping transform a cabin at Wings of Eagles Ranch, and Charlotte In-Vironments is honored to be part of the makeover.

Wings of Eagles Ranch is a true Center for Hope, providing children and adults with special needs, their families, and at-risk youth with opportunities to build confidence, independence, and lasting memories through adaptive programs, horseback riding, camps, and meaningful experiences. Their on-site cabins allow families to stay together while participating in these life-changing programs, making this renovation even more impactful.

This year's WIN (Women in NARI) Passion Project is helping transform a cabin at Wings of Eagles Ranch, and Charlotte In-Vironments is honored to be part of the makeover.

Wings of Eagles Ranch is a true Center for Hope, providing children and adults with special needs, their families, and at-risk youth with opportunities to build confidence, independence, and lasting memories through adaptive programs, horseback riding, camps, and meaningful experiences. Their on-site cabins allow families to stay together while participating in these life-changing programs, making this renovation even more impactful.
