Foundation Waterproofing Done RIGHT – Perforated Pipe Installation Walk-Through

Water damage starts at the foundation. 🚫💧 We’re not just meeting code—we’re EXCEEDING it.

Watch as we walk the perimeter of North Brevard Duets and show you exactly how we’re installing a complete waterproofing system with perforated pipe drainage. This isn’t your standard approach; this is above and beyond to keep water WHERE IT BELONGS—away from the structure.

Next up? Grading the exterior, finishing the wall, and then our truss package arrives. The build doesn’t stop. 🏗️

Installing Underground Flex Pipe and Upgrading to 6-Inch Gutters with Guards

We installed new flex pipe underground running beneath the sidewalk and around to the corner of the house, allowing us to connect all three gutters into one neat system. We upgraded the gutters from 5-inch to 6-inch size and added gutter guards for better functionality and appearance.

June is a wonderful time to celebrate the kind of community spirit that reminds us how much good exists in the world. This month, we are sharing a story that proves kindness has no age limit and that one act of generosity can change everything.

At Louisa County High School in Virginia, a group of teenage automotive students spend their semesters doing something truly remarkable. Instead of simply learning how to repair cars in an insulated classroom, they restore donated vehicles and give them away to single parents in need of reliable transportation. In partnership with the nonprofit Giving Words, the program has given away over 60 cars and repaired more than 260, one garage door reveal at a time.

For recipients like Jessica Rader, a single mom of three, the gift was far more than a set of wheels. It opened the door to full-time work, independence, and peace of mind. These students’ actions are a wonderful reminder of the lasting impacts that acts of kindness can have on our communities.

Every June 14th, we celebrate the Stars and Stripes on Flag Day. While we’re all familiar with the United States’ flag, we might not know all of the history behind this symbol.

To celebrate, we wanted to share a few fun facts about the history of the flag that might surprise you:

🔹 The current 50-star design was created by a 17-year-old. Robert G. Heft of Lancaster, Ohio, submitted the design as a high school project in 1958. It was chosen by President Eisenhower out of more than 3,000 submissions in 1960.

🔹 There have been 27 official versions of the flag. Twenty-five of those changes were solely to update the number of stars every time a new state joined the Union. The star additions were admitted on July 4th, and, together, they give us a rich visual history of the country's growth over time.

🔹 The colors for the flag have taken on their own meanings over the years. Charles Thomson, secretary of the Continental Congress in 1774, suggested that red represents hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue stands for vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

🔹 Six American flags have been planted on the moon. Neil Armstrong and Edwin E. “Buzz” Aldrin were the first, but five additional Apollo missions have also left a flag on the lunar surface.

🔹 The current design is the longest-running version in history. No new states have been added since Hawaii joined the union in 1959, making this the most enduring flag design the country has ever had.

Wishing you a wonderful Flag Day filled with pride and appreciation for the history behind the flag we share.

We Pulled Up the Floors to Fix This 👀

Water found its way in through the gutters and damaged underground lines — so the floors had to come back up. Now we’re back outside with the excavator, digging around the foundation to waterproof and get ahead of it for good. New gutters and regrading coming soon. This one’s getting handled right. Stay tuned. 🔨

Slab Prep & Fire Rated Wall Planning — North Brevard Duets Project 🏗️

Back on site at our North Brevard duets project and the momentum is real. 👊

Two loads of compact base delivered and spread on the north right side — we are prepping for the concrete slab and it’s coming together. Next phase is backfilling the future patio area for the new shared duet, followed by underground plumbing before we pour.

We’re also on site discussing the fire rated separation wall required by Mecklenburg County code — this has to be planned and accounted for before we get deeper into the slab phase. No shortcuts, no surprises.

I’m out of town on vacation this week but our team is locked in and executing. That’s what building the right team looks like. The work doesn’t stop. 💪🏗️

As June marks the midpoint of the year, it can be a natural time to reflect on the first half of the year and the goals you set.

Whether you’re continuing to move toward a current goal or setting a new one, the confidence to get started does not always come before the first step. Sometimes it grows with each one.

As we settle into this month, what is one dream or goal you are ready to pursue with a little more boldness in the second half of the year? Share it in the comments. We would love to hear what you are working toward.

We Ripped Up 1,200 SF of LVP (Here’s Why)

We just finished installing 1,200 square feet of LVP flooring in this basement — and now we’re tearing it all apart.

After discovering water intrusion, we had no choice but to pull up every plank and start investigating. What we found points to the foundation wall on the left side of the basement, right near where our plumber installed the sewage pump.

Now we’re in cleanup mode — extracting the water, assessing the damage, and figuring out exactly how to stop this from happening again.

This is the part of construction nobody wants to show you. We’re showing it anyway.

Stay tuned — waterproofing solutions are coming next. 👇
