Yesterday, I sawed a big branch off of a tree that got hit by lightning while I was in the Bahamas.

But good things happened while I was gone too! All my watermelon & radish seeds had sprouted.

The watermelon seedling that I transplanted into a garden bed after it sprouted in the compost pile is much bigger.

I thought my lil strawberry patch was done but I had 2 ripe berries waiting on me.

I got my first leaf on my very first elephant ear. I’ve admired elephant ears for decades & I finally have my own. I’m excited about channeling my inner old Black lady and having the most beautiful ones in the neighborhood.

That’s how life is. Sad s**t happens right alongside the beautiful stuff. We ain’t gotta embrace it all but it sure does cause suffering when we get too attached to just one or the other.

I expect that things won’t always go right and when they go wrong I try my best to allow myself to feel however I feel about it & also focus on my gratitude for what is going right.

If you feel like sharing, let me know something that could have you in shambles if you let it and tell me bout soemthing good that you got goin on.

I did some work in my strawberry patch this morning! I plucked dead & diseased looking leaves, loosened up the root-bound soil and planted cucumber, sunflowers and soursop.

No, I didn’t check to see if those things wills grow well together. I’m just gonna water em and see what happens!
