Providing quality water to rural Mississippi C

08/25/2026

This week you may notice pressure changes in your area during the day. The District is flushing hydrants and replacing any that need replaced along the way. This is scheduled maintenance, nothing to worry about! We want to thank all of our customers who continue to support and help us to continue to serve you safe and potable drinking water with 268 miles of water main in Mississippi County.

**Replaced one and should be back building up pressure soon. This process will begin again in the morning on highway 80, 8:30am.

All testing has come back safe samples for all entities. Precautionary is now also lifted for those who were affected by low pressure in the county. Have a great weekend!

We have a loss in pressure in our system but they are steadily working to isolate valves to feed our customers as quickly as possible. Thank you all for your patience and understanding as our providers are working diligently and through the night to get this handled! God bless the crews.

Results back 3/19/26- safe sample- precautionary lifted.

-Water is restored. There is a precautionary boil water advisory in effect for the residents directly impacted by the break, not because the water has been found to be contaminated because the pressure dropped below ideal conditions for too long. We will conduct testing and send it to the lab Monday and await results. Thank you all for being so kind and patient today! We had so many customers stop in to check on us, so much appreciation!

*** The break has been found and we are waiting on locates at this time. Will update later as the situation progresses.

We are aware of an issue of little or no pressure and searching right now to identify where the break is. Will update as soon as we have information.

03/05/2026

**Update 12:30pm water is restored. There is a precautionary boil water order in place not bc of contaminated water but because the water pressure was low or off fpr 12 hours. Testing will take a few days to come back. Thank you all for your patience and support during our repair!

Well guys, after relentlessly searching and finding the lightning strike that affected the entire southern half of the county’s water pressure with little or zero water. We successfully located the leak and isolated it with valves- restoring pressure to majority of those it affected. Unfortunately, it does leave those directly in the area of impact without water until we can emergency repair and restore in the morning. From the intersection of Highway BB north towards East Prairie city limits if you have PWSD #1 water we will be working to get your water restored as quickly as possible. There is also a line down in the same vacinity as the major main break, it looks to be a cable line? We will keep you all updated as much as possible here on this page. Thank you for your patience!

Update- water is restored to those customers. Results will be released as soon as they are available next week.

The District is currently dealing with an outage on CC and CR 425 due to sustaining damage to the line. We’ve been working diligently to get water restored as soon as possible. If you live in the affected area only you will be under a precautionary boil water order.
