The Grizzled Mantis is a common mantis found in trees in Florida Georgia and South Carolina. It's arboreal existence make them difficult to see or find, dwelling high in a treetops usually mature oaks where lichen is common. They feed on other arthropods. These mantids have spiny front arms so be careful not to handle them.

Charleston Rose Meeting is this Sunday November 13 at the James Island Arts and Cultural Center, 1248 Camp RD. Social time from 4pm to 4:30 meeting and program to follow. Our Program on Noisette Rose, the first roses breed in America. Please bring any blooms for show and tell.
