Let me take a minute to brag on our team for this broken $2500 VAS front radar target.
A few months ago this target was cracked while in service.
What happened after reminded me why I'm so proud of MASS and who we are.
Because the tech could have tried to hide the damage, maybe slap some epoxy on and put it back into service. And maybe that would have worked. But our techs are trained to understand the systems they are calibrating and know that false positive calibration results happen often. Attempting calibration with a damaged target could cause a false positive so he reached out immediately and a replacement was ordered same day. Accidents happen and we move onward and upward.
It's easy to talk about doing the right thing. And just as easy to cut corners when things get difficult. I've always looked at cutting corners as selling your pride a little bit at at time.
It isn't worth it. That replacement target purchase will get lost in the P&L and soon forgotten. But the message it conveys to our team and our clients will remain. We will do the right thing, at all costs, always. You simply can't put a price tag on that.
