An easy way to protect your online accounts is by creating strong passwords.

Follow these simple tips from the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency to strengthen your passwords:
1. Make them at least 16 characters.
2. Use a random string of mixed-case letters, numbers, and symbols, or create a memorable phrase of 4-7 unrelated words.
3. Use a different password for each account.

If a PIN code is your only option, make it as long as possible, choose a random combination, and avoid reusing the same PIN across multiple accounts.

While affordable housing directly benefits lower-income and vulnerable households, the entire community wins when housing is more affordable and accessible.

Research shows that affordable housing boosts the local economy by allowing families to have more disposable income and a say in how they spend their money. They can prioritize health care, afford more nutritious foods, and take better care of their bodies and minds. And when people have a stable roof over their heads and a safe place to sleep, they're more likely to show up to work and school.

Affordable housing is a key part of economic and community development in West Virginia. Visit our website to learn more about the ways the West Virginia Housing Development Fund works to finance affordable housing that provides stability and strengthens communities statewide.

If you've owned your home for some time, you may notice that your monthly payment can change from year to year.

That's likely because you have an escrow account. Each month, part of your payment pre-funds your homeowners insurance and property taxes. The Fund uses that money to pay those fees on your behalf each year. The amount you owe in property taxes or insurance may go up or down annually, and that is reflected in your monthly house payment.

If you have a Fund loan and you have questions about escrow, call 800-933-1272 to speak with our Loan Servicing department.
