20k for a roof replacement and now she’s paying for repairs.

From the first inspection to the last bit of cleanup, there are a lot of moving parts behind a roof replacement.

Having someone there to answer questions, walk through the options, and help make sense of the process can make all the difference — and we’re glad Coker had that experience working with Ashley.

Then it was over to the crew, who put in a long day to get the new roof installed and wrapped up in a single day. 🐻🏠

Thank you, Coker, for trusting Big Bear Roofing and taking the time to share your experience with us!

This is what it’s all about. ❤️

We were proud to be one small part of bringing this home — and this gathering space — back to life for Celeshia and her family. Knowing they’ll be able to spend Christmas together here this year makes this project that much more special.

Thank you to Habitat for Humanity of Berkeley County, GAF, QXO and everyone who showed up to make it happen. 🐻🏠

We’re grateful to have been a part of it.

On September 16, 2026, the community stepped in to turn hope into a reality.

As part of the GAF Community Matters Program, Habitat for Humanity of Berkeley County partnered with Big Bear Roofing, Hope Repair (Pointe North Church), GAF - Roofing, QXO, and Four Seasons at Lakes of Cane Bay to restore the damaged side of the home. Berkeley Habitat and Hope Repair crews tackled the demolition of the old chimney and damaged wall, then repaired the wall so the space could be safely used again. Cyclone Services Pest Control also lent their support to the project, and volunteers were kept fueled throughout the day with lunch generously provided by KFC Goose Creek.

For Celeshia, the new space means more than a repaired home. It means a place to gather again. What she's most excited about is hosting Christmas this year in her new den, complete with what she's already calling her "Christmas tree window." After 14 years, the family will finally have room to celebrate the holidays together at home.

Projects like this are about more than repairing homes. They're about restoring the places where families gather, grow, and make memories. We are so grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact right here in Goose Creek.
