May is National Water Safety Month 💧
As pool season ramps up, it’s a good reminder that water safety and drowning prevention should always be top of mind. This nationwide effort, led by the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance and its partners, focuses on sharing education, resources, and guidance for safer time in pools and other bodies of water. Whether you’re at a backyard pool or heading out to the water, the right precautions make all the difference.
• Stay close, attentive, and actively supervise swimmers
• Build strong swimming skills and comfort in the water
• Use properly approved life jackets when needed
• Be aware of hazards like drains and suction points
• Learn CPR so you’re prepared in an emergency
Drowning can happen quickly and without warning, awareness and preparation are key to keeping time in the water safe for everyone.
