🔥 Kennington Electric Proudly Selected for the New Hambden Fire Department Project ⚡
Kennington Electric is honored to announce that we have been selected as the electrical contractor for the new Hambden Fire Department construction project, under the leadership of Millstone Management Group.
This project is more than a job for us - it’s a continuation of a legacy. For our roots run three generations deep in both fire service and electrical contracting.
Our founder, Ken Kovats, served his community as a firefighter, Assistant Chief, and ultimately Fire Chief in neighboring Montville Township. Alongside him, his wife Judy served as a firefighter/EMT while the two of them built what would become Kennington Electric. Deep friendships were formed serving side-by-side with Hambden's department leadership through the years.
Their commitment to service didn’t stop there.
Their children - John, Cathy, and Jim - carried forward Ken’s vision at Kennington Electric. Now, John and Jim, together with our dedicated team, work every day to uphold the standard of excellence in electrical craftsmanship that Ken established. Ken’s grandson, Josh, now serves as a distinguished team leader within the company.
And the fire service tradition continues as well. Ken & Judy’s children, John and Jane, served in the fire service, and today their son, Clayton, and grandson, Gabe, proudly serve departments across Northeast Ohio.
This project represents a full‑circle moment for our family and our company - a chance to give back to the fire service community that shaped us.
