I love seeing positive feedback.
So much effort goes into building a home- from the clients, the builder, and the trade partners. Having it all come together and getting this type of input is awesome.

I’m excited to share photos of our most recent build in Fairfield county. This property is on a large, private reservoir, with beautiful wooded acreage.

It was a pleasure to work with these clients. I hope you enjoy the pictures of this home.

Edit: for presentation, we did Photoshop in landscaping. Everything with the home is as it was built. I just want to make sure I’m being transparent.

At this new construction in Chapin, we unfortunately had to tear down a multigenerational Homestead. Fortunately though, the family had us save quite a bit of the materials that were used in the original build. Part of that reclamation was the cedar paneling and beams.
I love the look of natural product, what God created. Yet when I walk into this house and see and smell the cedar, it’s not just wood. It’s understanding what it means to the customer, that these materials are materials their granddaddy touched, milled, and installed.
As beautiful as it is, you also come to understand that there is history here that far surpasses aesthetics.
I’m honored that Gage Construction gets to be a part of that.

Good afternoon!
I hope all the storms passing through the area have had a minimal impact on your day.

This weekend Gage Construction was planning on participating in the Home and Garden show at the fairgrounds. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances with booth placement and visibility we will not be at the event this weekend.
If you were planning on coming out and visiting us, I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. I would be happy to set a separate time to meet and discuss your project.

Please feel free to reach out and we can set up a time.

Thank you

This is worthy of sharing again due to the upcoming temps. Be prepared!

It looks like winter is upon us. As we get into colder weather (by colder I mean in the 20’s or lower), please take the time to prepare your home. This preparation can help avoid costly expenses.
This is not an exhaustive list, but these items are some of the easiest to take care of, yet they have greater potential to cause damage.

- Remove/disconnect any hose from your outdoor spigot.
- Shut water off to unheated areas. Maybe you have a laundry room or utility sink in your garage. Maybe an outdoor kitchen.
- Insulate exposed pipes. Even though you typically can’t see the water pipes going into a tankless water heater, they are still exposed to the freezing temperatures. Also, well pump pipes (maybe consider a heat lamp in the pump house).
- If water pipes are also exposed to getting wet from snow/rain, the insulation wrap must be kept dry. Use a trash bag or something with better water repellency than a grocery bag.
- Purchase and install frost protection covers for your hose spigots. These easily install once the hose is removed.
- If you use propane to heat your home, ensure you have a sufficient amount in your tank. Please don’t make the person with the propane company have to come out after hours, in freezing temperatures, to fill your tank.
- I would assume by now that if you have an irrigation system, it is off. If not, prepare accordingly.
- If you haven’t had your HVAC serviced recently, now would be a good time to have it checked out by a reputable company.
- Clear gutters of debris. Clogged gutters can be damaging to a home due to water backup. Frozen water in gutters can be dangerous.
- Finally, and just as important, please bring in any animals or pets when we experience harsh weather.
