It is tempting to snap a photo of a sick tree and let an app tell you what is wrong, but plant health diagnosis is not as simple as a picture. Diseases, insects, and environmental stress can all look similar on the surface and the wrong conclusion leads to the wrong plan of action. We are proud to shine the spotlight on CVTS-L's own Garrett Worth! Garrett competed as a member of the 2026 Penn State Mont Alto Woodsmen's Team, and this year his team made history by claiming first place at both the John G. Palmer Intercollegiate Woodsmen's Meet and the Mid-Atlantic Woodsmen's Meet, winning 12 of 22 events at the Mid-Atlantic alone. It was the first time in nearly 20 years that Mont Alto won both prestigious meets in the same season. From log rolling to pole climbing, these competitions push competitors to their limits, testing endurance, technical forestry knowledge, and hands on skill. It is no surprise that someone with that kind of drive calls CVTS-L home. Way to go Garrett, we are incredibly proud of you and your team!
