Later night in the shop. These two boards are getting their final bath before heading to their new homes Monday! 🪵😍

First up is cherry framed in black walnut, followed by a big maple brisket board. And when I say big…that one means business! 😆

It’s a longer video, but watching the wood’s color and grain come to life is worth slowing down for. One of my favorite parts of seeing Louie’s work come together.

Both are spoken for and almost ready for their place at someone else’s table. ❤️

I need your help naming these! 👀

Louie has 5 new boards in the works at LSL Woodworks, and while they're still in the glue-up stage, I'm already thinking about what we're going to call them. 😆

Each finished board will be approximately 12" × 9" × ¾" and handcrafted from Beli and Maple, with two different accent woods:

🍂 Padauk — 3 will be available when completed
That warm reddish-orange color immediately made me think FALL. Some names I tossed around are Harvest Spice, Autumn Harvest, Autumn Ember, Fireside, Harvest Glow... and yes, even Pumpkin Spice. 😂

💜 Purpleheart — 2 will be available
For this one I'm thinking Heritage, Sugar Plum, Winterberry, or Midnight Plum.

They'll be $50 each once finished.

So now I'm turning to you followers to help narrow the names down!

What would you name the Padauk board?

And what would you name the Purpleheart board?

I asked Louie what he thought we should call them.

His response?
“Call them whatever you want, as long as you call them SOLD.” 🤣🤣

Sometimes business meetings look a little different. 😂

As I was getting ready to leave the shop last night, Louie and I ended up leaning over the hood of my truck doing a little LSL Woodworks strategizing.

New boards in the works. ✔️
Pricing discussed. ✔️
Upcoming shows. ✔️
Product names... apparently that's my department. 😂

I snapped a couple pictures while we were talking and, as you can see, he was trying to figure out why in the world I was taking his picture.

Then again, this is pretty much how we do things around here. No boardroom required—just a woodshop, a truck hood and two people figuring it out as we go. ❤️

And according to Louie, I can call the new boards anything I want...as long as I call them SOLD. 🤣

Fair enough.

Another busy morning. Final glue up, now let them sit for about 5 days to fully cure then days on days of sanding.

More custom orders going into glue-up this morning! Louie has been busy, and we added two more orders to our custom order board list today from customers stopping by. 😀

He even had enough scraps left from one order to create a 12" × 12" end-grain board made with cherry and framed in black walnut. That one will be added to our currently available boards once it’s finished.
