Forget-me-nots (Myosotis spp.)
Blooming now in the Penn State Master Gardeners of Franklin County’s Sun Perennial Demonstration Garden.
Forget-me-nots don’t sparkle or flare – they simply gather, like little blue whispers along the garden’s edge, each bloom a reminder that some beauties prefer gentleness over grandeur. Their tiny blue faces with bright centers feel as if the garden is leaning in to say, “I’m still here… remember me?”
These spring favorites stay low, usually 6–12 inches tall, forming airy mounds that drift naturally along paths or under shrubs. They bloom in spring through early summer, offering clusters of sky blue, five petaled flowers with yellow or white centers.

And because they are generous, forget-me-nots often self-seed and return year after year, creating those soft, naturalized drifts that make a garden flow.
