Florida Trip... Final Video 🌴
Well, we got it done.
The Lakewood Ranch tiki bar is completely finished, and in this video I’m just doing a walk-around showing everything we built and how it all came together.
It was a hell of a trip getting down here. 1,142 miles straight through from PA, pouring rain, construction, the trailer deciding to lose a bolt along the way 😂, and then getting here and getting to work.
But the bar is finished, everything turned out great, and the customer is happy.
One Florida tiki bar down. We’ve still got one more to go. 😎🌴🔨

Florida Trip... Video #4 🌴🚛
1,142 miles later... we finally made it to Lakewood Ranch!
We drove straight through from Pennsylvania, other than our stop in Lake City to pick up the synthetic palms... and make that little unexpected trailer repair. 🤦‍♂️🔧
It’s now about 5:00 in the afternoon, and after driving nonstop, we’re freaking exhausted.
But before we call it a day, we’re unloading the trailer and getting everything organized and prepped so we're ready to start the tiki bar install first thing tomorrow morning. 🌴🔨
No building tonight. Unload, prep, and DONE. 😂
Tomorrow the real work begins!

Florida Trip... Video #3 🌴🚛
Finally made it through all the damn rain and construction! 😂
After driving straight through from Pennsylvania, we’re now 933 miles into the trip and stopped at Endureed in Lake City, Florida to pick up the synthetic palms for the Lakewood Ranch tiki bar install... and we found THIS. 😳
The left-side shackle link had completely disconnected from the leaf spring eye because somewhere along the way, the retaining bolt and nut decided they were done with this trip. 🤦‍♂️😂
Luckily, we bring enough tools with us to handle minor breakdowns ourselves. The guys at Endureed found us the perfect-size bolt, nut and lock washer, and we got it fixed right there. 👍🔧
No clue where the original bolt and nut disappeared to, but apparently they didn’t want to go to Lakewood Ranch. 😂
209 miles and a little over 3 hours still to go.
Let’s see what happens next... 🌴🚛😂

Florida Trip... Video #2 🌴🚛
We barely got started and we're already getting hammered with rain in Maryland. 🌧️
And yes... for about the first 30 seconds, I'm holding the damn camera BACKWARDS. 😂 Apparently after 26 years of building tiki bars, operating a phone is still a work in progress.
It was raining so freaking hard you could barely see the road.
Great start to a 1,000+ mile drive to Florida! 😂

And we’re off… Florida bound! 🌴🚛
Truck loaded, trailer loaded, and somehow Matt and Michelle agreed to get in the truck with me. 😂
Heading out of PA for a long-ass ride to Florida to knock out two custom tiki bar installs.
We’ve got a hell of a drive ahead of us, but we're loaded up and ready to roll.
Next stop... Florida! 🌴🍹

First, thank you to everyone who reached out. The comments, messages and support really meant a lot to me. ❤️

And just to clear up one thing...

TIKI KEV ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE! 😂🌴

I'm still building custom tiki bars with the same quality and detail I always have. After 26 years of hauling them all over the country, I'm just dialing back the cross-country marathons. 🚛💨

Going forward, I'll be focusing most of my deliveries and installations within about a 3–4 hour drive of our shop in Chalfont, PA.

🔨 Custom tiki bars? Absolutely!

🌴 I Hope You’ll Take a Minute to Read This... ❤️
After 42 years in construction and 26 years of building tiki bars, I've spent a whole lot of my life with tools in my hands 🔨 and a whole lot of it looking through the windshield of a truck. 🚚
Building tiki bars has taken me all over the country. 🇺🇸 I've met some incredible people, built bars in places I never imagined I'd go, and made a lot of great memories along the way. 🌴🍹
And I'm not done. Not even close. 💪🌴
I still love walking into my shop with a pile of lumber and turning it into something that didn't exist a couple weeks earlier. 🔨 I still love seeing a customer's reaction when we finish an installation and they finally get to stand behind their own Tiki Kev bar. 🍹 After all these years, that part hasn't gotten old.
But the traveling has. 🚚😴
This year alone we've already been to Nebraska, upstate New York, Long Island and Maryland, along with several projects throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and later this month we're heading to Florida for two more installations. ☀️🌴 Somewhere along the way I realized that the part I used to enjoy, loading up the truck and heading across the country for another adventure, just doesn't have the same appeal anymore.
So I'm making a change. 🌴
Tiki Kev's Tiki Bars isn't going anywhere. 🌴🔨 I'm still building custom tiki bars, tiki huts and doing installations. I'm just going to start concentrating more of my work closer to home throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland, including the shore and beach towns. 🏖️🌊
There will probably still be an occasional road trip when the right project comes along. 🚚 I'm just not looking to spend several days behind the wheel for every build anymore.
After 26 years, I think I've earned the right to let the truck get a little more rest. 😂🚚💤
To everyone who has trusted me to build something for their backyard, business, pool, patio or little piece of paradise over the years, thank you. ❤️ Some of you started as customers and became friends, and that's probably the best thing I've gotten out of all those miles. 🌴
I'm still here.
I'm still building. 🔨
And I'm still bringing that island vibe to your backyard. 🌴🍹
Just hopefully a backyard a little closer to mine. 😂❤️
