A lot of homeowners think every lawn should be overseeded. That's not always the case. Some lawns are thick, healthy, and don't really need additional seed.
Others may benefit from overseeding because they're dealing with:

Putting seed on the ground is only part of the process.

For overseeding to be successful, the seed needs good contact with the soil. That’s why aeration and overseeding work well together. Opening and disturbing the soil gives the seed a better opportunity to establish than simply spreading it over the top of an existing lawn. Seed quality, proper application, timing, and follow-up watering all play a part in the final result.

Fall aeration and overseeding season is getting close.

If your lawn has become thin, compacted, or developed bare areas, fall gives us one of the best opportunities of the year to improve it.

Aeration helps open and loosen the soil, while overseeding introduces new grass into areas where the existing turf has thinned out.

A lot of people think spring is the most important time of the year for a lawn.

In reality, some of the biggest improvements happen in the fall.

Cooler temperatures and better growing conditions make it an excellent time to strengthen and improve a lawn.

If your grass has struggled or is struggling through the summer heat, now is a good time to start thinking about a plan moving forward.

Grass isn't always the problem.
Sometimes the biggest lawn frustrations are caused by what's underneath.

✔ Uneven ground
✔ Drainage issues
✔ Soil settling
✔ Compacted areas
✔ Low spots that collect water

These issues can affect everything from mowing quality to the overall appearance of your property.

As we head toward fall, it's a great time to evaluate areas that could benefit from grading, leveling, drainage improvements, or renovation work.

One of the best compliments you can get.

A family member looked out over this backyard and said it looks like the outfield of a Major League ballpark. This lawn has been a multi‑year turf management project focused on density, consistency, and long‑term results. Proud of how this one continues to come together.

Youngest grandson came to stay with us a couple days. He said hey Poppy your backyard looks like the outfield in a MLB park. I responded by saying yes it’s straight up Big League. I told him that his uncle Drew is responsible for that look!

🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸

This year marks 250 years since the founding of our country. Days like today are a good reminder of the independence, hard work, and strong communities that built this nation—values that still matter in small towns like ours. Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Independence Day spent with family, friends, good food, and maybe a few fireworks.
