What happens below grade matters just as much as what gets seen above it.
One of the most overlooked parts of a build is foundation backfilling. If this part is done incorrectly, it can create serious long-term moisture and structural problems.
At Caliber, we take a different approach.
Instead of using clay-heavy material that holds water against the foundation walls, we prioritize proper drainage and stability with washed stone and carefully selected backfill materials.
The goal is simple: move water away from the home, reduce pressure against the foundation, and protect the structure long-term.
We also utilize modern building practices, including poured foundation wall systems, which offers superior structural quality and can significantly improve efficiency. Depending on soil and lot conditions, poured walls may be a better fit - one that maintains the level of quality we expect in every build.
This stage may not be the glamorous part of construction, but it is one of the most important.
Built with intention. Backed by what you can’t see.
