Working in a load of wood chips to the Clay County Humane Society today. Chips donated by Loggers Inc in Clay City, and we donated the trucking. 4 of our 5 dogs are rescues, so I like helping them out when I can.

Swapping out a DC electric motor in the sawmill today that has been in service for 25 years. Had to sit out side and extend into it. Was the only way to get to it.

Bearing repair to a fairlead roller, changed the hoist lagging to a little bigger cable and a bigger diameter drum, new hoist cable, relined hoist brake, new air dryer mounted and guards on the swingers repaired. Ready for action again. Maybe next summer will bring some paint.

The new yard crane is moved home and up and going. Will come in real handy when something big breaks and the service truck crane can’t handle it.

Bucket in the shop getting some hard facing, next will be a new attach point on the arch for the dump rope and converting to a more available, less expensive style of tooth.

With the help of the wife, we got the bucket swapped out with the spare this afternoon. Time for old faithful to go in for an overhaul.
