A standard tub wall is about 15 inches to step over. A curbless shower takes that to zero.

That’s the first of five upgrades that turn a bathroom you’re careful in into one you can simply use:
✅ Low-threshold or curbless entry
✅ Grab bars at the entry and near the controls
✅ A textured floor for grip when it’s wet
✅ A built-in bench to sit, rest or get in and out
✅ A handheld shower on an adjustable bar

If you’re in Colorado and thinking about it, we’ll walk you through your space and your options with no pressure.

Sometimes a new bathroom isn't the right answer.

If the problem is access, like getting over the tub, you can change the home. If the problem is care or supervision, a bathroom fix won't solve that.

Assisted living deserves a serious look when there is memory loss or wandering, medications are getting missed, help is needed at night or with several daily tasks, or a family caregiver is nearing their limit.

Not sure which it is? Start with an occupational therapist, not a salesperson.

But if balance or the tub is the main obstacle, a remodel can help someone safely stay at home for years. Our full guide walks through both paths: bit.ly/AssistedLivingCost
