⚡ The People Behind the Power: Daniel Valenzuela | Where Careers Begin

Every skilled electrician starts somewhere! 🔧 This Careers in Construction Month, we’re spotlighting Daniel Valenzuela, one of Hi Power Electric’s apprentices, as he builds his skills, learns from his teammates, and grows his future in the electrical trade.

For Daniel, the best part of working at Hi Power is the people he gets to work with and the opportunity to learn something new from everyone around him. His typical day includes prepping carts, pulling wire, working on the deck, and tackling each task alongside his team.

💡 His advice for anyone starting out? “Your mind has to be a sponge!” Being an apprentice means staying curious, soaking up knowledge, and learning something new every day.

We’re proud to invest in the next generation of skilled professionals and help apprentices like Daniel build skills that last a lifetime! 👏⚡

⚡ Powering the Future of Construction in Golden, Colorado! 🌎

We’re excited to share one of Hi Power Electric’s newest commercial projects: the new headquarters and R&D facility for Terra CO2 Technologies!

Terra CO2 is developing innovative, low-carbon alternatives to traditional cement, helping move the construction industry toward a more sustainable future. ♻️

🏗️ The Project:
🔬 This tilt-up building features offices, warehouse space, light manufacturing, and research labs
📍 Located in Golden, Colorado, near North Table Mountain
🌎 Expected to be among the first buildings in metro Denver built using Terra’s own low-carbon concrete!

This project also marks our first partnership with Alcorn Construction, and we’re off to a great start! Underground work is underway, and we’re excited to see this innovative facility take shape over the coming year.

At Hi Power Electric, we’re proud to power projects that help build what’s next. ⚡

⚡ Raising the Bar in RiNo!

Work is moving up at GWS Residential, a 13-story, 301-unit multifamily development in Denver’s RiNo district.

Hi Power Electric is proud to be the electrical subcontractor on the project, working alongside Brinkmann Constructors, the project’s general contractor. Our team is handling the complete electrical scope, along with low-voltage raceways and boxes throughout the building.

We’re wrapping up electrical work on Deck 3 and moving right into Deck 4, while also preparing for major electrical work in the basement.

As the building rises, so does the work behind the walls that will power it for years to come. ⚡🏗️

⚡ Day One of Empower Academy! ⚡

We’re excited to kick off another year of learning and growth with 24 first-year apprentices and 16 second-year apprentices! Our in-house apprentice academy is an important part of how we invest in our people and help raise up the next generation of electricians.

Leading the way is Dale Dexter, our instructor and a respected leader in the electrical industry. As a former City of Denver Electrical Inspector, Dale brings a lifetime of trade knowledge and real-world experience to our apprentices and superintendents—sharing valuable lessons that extend from the classroom to the field.

We’re proud to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence that build strong careers and a stronger industry. Here’s to a great year, Empower Academy! 💪⚡

🚲❤️ 27 Bikes. 27 Helmets. So Many Smiles!

On September 16, our Hi Power Electric team had the amazing opportunity to deliver 27 brand-new bikes and helmets to the 2nd-grade students at Laurene Edmondson Elementary in Loveland, Colorado, through Wish for Wheels!

After building the bikes together, it was so much fun to see the excitement on the kids’ faces as they received their very own bikes. Days like this remind us how special it is to give back to the communities we’re fortunate to build in and call home.

We’re incredibly proud of our Hi Power team for showing up, having fun, and making a difference! 🚲🙌

Safety doesn’t stop at the jobsite. It starts with looking out for each other. ❤️

September 14–18 is Construction Su***de Prevention Week—a reminder that behind every hard hat is a person, a family, and a story we may not know.

Take a moment to check in. Listen. Speak up. Let someone know they don’t have to face a difficult time alone.

Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988 for free, confidential help 24/7.

Let’s make safety personal. Let’s look out for one another—on the jobsite and beyond.

🚲 Building Bikes. Building Community. Building Smiles. ❤️

This week, the Hi Power Electric team came together with Wish for Wheels to build brand-new bikes for the 2nd-grade students at Laurene Edmondson Elementary!

Our office and field employees rolled up their sleeves, worked together, and had a little fun along the way with a three-handed bike-building competition, Big Wheel races, and a pancake breakfast catered by Flippin' Flapjacks! 🥞🚲🏆

It was a great day of teamwork, laughter, and giving back—and we’re proud to support Wish for Wheels and their mission to empower children and communities through the gift of a bike and helmet.

But the best part is still to come! 🎉

Next week, we’ll be delivering these bikes to the 2nd-grade students at Laurene Edmondson Elementary. We can’t wait to see the smiles when they meet their new wheels!

At Hi Power Electric, we believe in giving back to the communities we’re fortunate to build in and call home across the Front Range.

Follow along next week for the big bike delivery! 🚲❤️
