โšก Electrical Hall of Shame #3

This breaker lost a fight with electricity... and electricity won.

The crazy part? This wasn't fire damage.

All of this damage happened inside an electrical panel from excessive heat. Over time, electrical components can deteriorate and overheat without obvious warning signs.

That's why unusual smells, buzzing sounds, flickering lights, or warm electrical equipment should never be ignored.

Would you have guessed this came from a working electrical system? ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿšจ What started as a sparking stove outlet could have ended much worse.

A homeowner called us after noticing sparks coming from the outlet behind their stove. During our inspection, our technician discovered that the breaker was the wrong brand and size for the panel.

The customer initially asked if we could simply repair the wiring to save money. Instead, our technician recommended replacing the breaker because it was the safest solution.

When we removed the breaker, we discovered it had been overheating and had actually melted internally. The damage was hidden from view and could have led to a serious electrical fire.

This is exactly why electrical issues should never be ignored and why doing the job correctly matters.

We're grateful for customers who trust our recommendations and even more grateful when we can help prevent dangerous situations before they become emergencies.

Thank you for the amazing review and for allowing us to help keep your home safe. Read her full review here: https://share.google/xJcIx7Ww2rJstW7uA

Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Safety Upgrade ๐Ÿšจ

We recently completed a full installation of new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout this beautiful home to help keep the family protected 24/7.

Properly placed and up-to-date detectors are one of the most important safety features in any home. Many homeowners do not realize smoke detectors expire and should typically be replaced every 10 years.

โœ”๏ธ New smoke & CO detectors installed
โœ”๏ธ Proper placement for maximum protection
โœ”๏ธ Tested and fully operational
โœ”๏ธ Helping keep this home code compliant and safe

Small devices. Huge peace of mind. ๐Ÿ‘

If your detectors are outdated, chirping constantly, or missing altogether, it may be time for an upgrade.

๐Ÿšงโšก Not all electrical work happens behind the walls... sometimes it happens beneath the floor.

Our team is currently working inside an FAA training and simulator facility, reconfiguring the power system beneath a raised-floor workspace.

As the room is being divided and upgraded for new simulator equipment, we're tracing existing circuits and converting shared floor boxes into dedicated circuits.

Why does that matter?

When multiple workstations share the same circuit, troubleshooting and future expansion can become a challenge.

By giving each floor box its own dedicated circuit, the system becomes more reliable, easier to maintain, and better prepared for future technology upgrades.

These photos show what most people never see: hundreds of floor panels removed, wiring pathways exposed, and our electricians carefully mapping, testing, and reorganizing the power infrastructure below.

It's not the flashiest job, but it's the kind of work that keeps critical facilities running smoothly every day.

A customer plugged in a vacuum and heard a loud pop.

At first, they thought the vacuum was the problem. It wasn't.

This outlet had likely been developing a loose connection over time, creating heat every time something was plugged in. The vacuum simply exposed an issue that had been building for years.

If an outlet feels warm, smells burnt, sparks, or shows discoloration, it should be inspected by a licensed electrician as soon as possible.

Would you have noticed this outlet before it failed? Let us know in the comments.

๐Ÿšจ Sunday Emergency Call

A tenant in a four-plex suddenly lost power, so our team was called out to investigate.

The problem? A failed 100-amp main breaker.

When our technicians tested the breaker, it immediately started sizzling and arcing internally. The breaker had failed and was no longer safe to operate.

โšก Replaced the damaged breaker
โšก Restored power to the unit
โšก Tested the electrical system
โšก Verified everything was operating normally

The photos show the damage hidden inside the breaker. Sometimes a simple power outage is actually a warning sign of a much bigger electrical issue.

If your home suddenly loses power, don't ignore it. Have it checked by a licensed electrician.

โš ๏ธ Electrical fires can happen when you least expect them.

Adams County Fire Rescue recently responded to a house fire caused by an electrical failure at the exterior panel. Thankfully, no one was injured.

Your electrical panel is the heart of your home's electrical system. If it's outdated, damaged, or showing signs of wear, it may be time for an inspection.

A quick check today could help prevent a major problem tomorrow.

And a big thank you to the firefighters and investigators at Adams County Fire Rescue for helping keep our community safe. ๐Ÿš’
