This isn't a trend. It's a comeback. Grasscloth has been around for thousands of years, born in Asia, used in the homes of Chinese and Japanese nobility.

Why do people choose it? Texture, warmth, and a natural richness that paint will never achieve. It turns a wall into a design element. Done well, in the right room, it's one of the most elegant choices in interior design.

What is it actually made of? Woven natural fibers including seagrass, jute, sisal, abaca, h**p, and bamboo, many sourced from Asia where this craft has been practiced for centuries. Phillip Jeffries sources with that heritage in mind. Each fiber is different. Each roll is slightly different. That's the point.

Why are the seams visible? Because organic materials don't pattern-match. No two strips are identical. The seams aren't a flaw. They're proof it's the real thing.

When should you think twice? If you have toddlers, heavy-pawed dogs, a humid bathroom, or a love of wiping down your walls, this might not be your material. It's not washable, stains easily, and moisture is its enemy. We'd rather tell you that now than after the install.
