A gas log set inside a wood burning fireplace sounds like a good idea until the cold air starts winning. 🏠

That is exactly what was happening here. Cold air pouring in through the chase and making the space uncomfortable no matter how often the fireplace ran. A band aid solution that was never going to fix the real problem. This homeowner called Colony and we got it done right. 🤝

We removed the existing setup, sealed the chase completely to eliminate the cold air issues for good, and installed a brand new American Hearth DVCP-36 direct vent gas fireplace. Flat black interior, oak log set, blower, remote thermostat, and safety screen.

PJ then finished it off with beautiful new tile that pulled the whole space together perfectly. No more cold air. No more compromises. Just a fireplace that finally works the way it should and a space that looks the part.

Your air conditioner is working harder than it should be and there is a good chance you already know why. ⚠️

Sometimes the problem is not that you have a wood burning stove. It is that you have the wrong one. 🏠

An outdated unit that is past its prime is not just an eyesore. It is an inefficient burn, more wood consumed, and a stove that is simply not performing the way it should for your space. This homeowner was ready for an upgrade and Colony made it happen. 🤝

We removed the existing wood burning stove and installed a brand new Regency F2450 wood burning stove complete with a black classic door, black pedestal, blower, and air mate. A cleaner look, a better burn, and a stove that actually does the job it is supposed to do.

This homeowner had a wood burning fireplace they never used. Not because they did not want one but because it was leaking so much cold air and humidity into their home that the only solution they had was to seal it off with Styrofoam and forget it existed. 🏠

And when we got in there we found out why. The entire floor of the chase was an unframed dirt floor with zero insulation. Cold air, humidity, and energy loss pouring into the home every single day without the homeowner even realizing the full extent of it. This was not just a fireplace problem. This was a home problem. 🤝

We removed the wood burning fireplace and flue completely, reframed and sealed the chase from the ground up, ran gas and electric, and installed a brand new Regency P33 direct vent gas fireplace. Flat black interior, oak log set, blower, thermostat remote, vignette faceplate and finish trim, and a custom surround to seal up every last air gap.

A fireplace they never used became the centerpiece of their home. No more cold air. No more humidity. No more Styrofoam. Just a beautiful efficient fireplace that finally works the way it always should have.
