🛠️Preserving History, One Roof at a Time🛠️
At Crowder Restoration, we believe a roof is more than just protection—it’s a guardian of the stories, people, and legacies beneath it. Recently, our team had the honor of working on four of the most historic buildings in Cave Spring, Georgia. Each project was a reminder that craftsmanship has the power to protect history itself.
Here’s a look at the incredible landmarks we were trusted to restore:
---
🏠 The Hearn Inn – Built 1912
Nestled in the heart of Rolater Park, the Hearn Inn was originally built as a girls’ dormitory for the Hearn Academy. Today, it serves as a charming inn, welcoming visitors who come to experience Cave Spring’s small-town beauty. Our team restored the roof, ensuring this beloved structure can continue hosting guests for years to come. Working on a building that has seen generations of families and travelers pass through its halls was truly something special.
---
🏛️ The Academy – Founded 1838, Rebuilt 1910
The Cave Spring Manual Labor School, later renamed Hearn Academy after local benefactor Lott Hearn, has been a cornerstone of education in the community for nearly two centuries. After a devastating fire, it was rebuilt in 1910, and the Academy still stands tall today as part of Cave Spring’s historic district. Putting a new roof on this landmark meant preserving the story of education, resilience, and community that lives in its walls.
---
⛪ The Historic Baptist Church – Mid-1800s
Just steps away from the Academy stands the historic Baptist Church. For generations, this sanctuary has been a place of worship, weddings, baptisms, and countless community gatherings. The trust placed in us to restore its roof reminded us that some projects go far beyond construction—they are about honoring sacred spaces that have brought people together for lifetimes.
---
⛪ Cave Spring Presbyterian Church – Built 1856
Located at 13 Alabama Street, this Gothic Revival–style church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its striking architecture and long-standing role in the community make it one of Cave Spring’s true treasures. Restoring its roof was one of the highlights of our work—not just because of the craftsmanship involved, but because of what the building represents: faith, heritage, and beauty that has stood the test of time.

Working on these four buildings wasn’t just another job—it was an extraordinary privilege. Our team felt the weight of responsibility, knowing that every shingle we replaced was helping to protect stories that began long before us and will continue long after us.
At Crowder Restoration, we are proud to serve homeowners and businesses alike—but projects like these remind us that sometimes, we’re not just roofing structures, we’re roofing history.
