Did you see that Facebook is going to "allow" two posts with links per month, and if you want more than that, you have to pay for their version of "premium"? This includes links in the comments. ๐
There are so many things that Meta is doing that are absolutely ridiculous, but that might be one of the worst. Their platforms were supposed to be about connection, then they morphed into sales/marketing areas, but now they're useless for either of those uses.
You can't see the things your friends post - the Instagram "following" tab is now filled with ads too ๐ฎโ๐จ - people who CHOSE to follow you can't see when you post, things are being falsely labeled AI, and they refuse to remove the AI features people say they don't want, and now limiting links so they can charge for them... it's getting ridiculous.
Do I have any solutions... no.๐
We can try to use other platforms but the reality is, a lot of people simply aren't willing to switch to another site or only use it for a couple weeks (we saw this with Cara, it was really busy for a bit, then people just... forgot about it). We can start Patreon pages to share our art on, or Substacks for writing, or any number of other sites.
But when it comes down to it, Facebook and Instagram are kind of the default for a lot of people, and that's probably not going to change. At least not in a big enough way where we can find new people through those sites.
Anyway, I made this painting a couple weeks ago, I keep forgetting to share it, because I kind of keep forgetting about Instagram in general. ๐
