Every Fundamentals of Boatbuilding class that I teach is slightly different. 10 talented students built the backbone- stem assembly, skeg, and keelson/keel as well as steaming the new ribs for the new Whitehall. Both garboard strakes were shaped and bent in place. The other focus was to finish the Chaisson dory. A lot of interior work. Ribs, stringers, seats, breast hook and stern knees. The Chaisson will have a new home in Michigan. For the lofting exercise we lofted the next Chaisson to be built.A fun class

A fun week teaching " Fitting Out Small Boats" . 6 students with woodworking and boatbuilding experience. We finished the bow and stern sheets in "Aviva", the pea pod built last winter and fit thwarts, stern sheets and bow seat in "Thelma" also took in some beautiful sunrises and sunsets.!
