🚨 One of the toughest liner installations we’ve tackled in a long time! 🚨
Not all liner replacements are created equal… and this pool was a perfect example of that.
Once we removed the old liner, we discovered severe groundwater issues unlike anything we’ve seen recently. To make matters even more challenging, there was an old concrete shell buried beneath portions of the pool. The concrete only extended through part of the shallow end and halfway up the walls, creating a pocket that trapped groundwater between the concrete and the sand base.
The result? Sinkholes, washouts, and a constant flow of water working against us.
To save the project, we had to get creative. We jackhammered through nearly 2 feet of concrete to cut drainage channels and install a pump underneath the pool. That pump ran continuously, pulling thousands of gallons of water from beneath the pool while we worked.
Over the last two days alone, our crew spent more than 20 hours in the last 2 days
✔️ Digging out multiple sinkholes
✔️ Removing rotted tree roots and organic material
✔️ Structurally repacking compromised areas
✔️ Rebuilding and re-prepping the entire pool base
✔️ Installing fresh vermiculite to strengthen and harden the surface
After a tremendous amount of hard work, determination, and problem-solving, we were finally able to install the new liner this afternoon.
This job is a reminder that every pool has a story hidden beneath the surface. We never truly know what we’re going to uncover until the old liner comes out. Some installations go smoothly… others test every bit of our experience and skill.
We’re incredibly proud of our crew for sticking with it and refusing to cut corners. The extra effort was worth it, and this pool is ready for many more summers ahead. 💪☀️🏊
