This basement came a LONG way. 🙌
When we started, this basement had been gutted and needed to be put back together so the homeowners could get the house ready to sell.
Now it’s completely finished and gives the next owners a ton of extra usable space. There’s a large open living area, a bedroom with a closet, the separate room with the wood-burning stove, and even an open area where a kitchen could be added later. There are a lot of possibilities for how this space could be used down the road.
We also really love how the exposed ceiling turned out. Instead of adding drywall and losing more ceiling height in a basement, we painted everything overhead black. It keeps the height while making the galvanized ductwork stand out and everything else blend into the background.
For the walls, we used Sherwin-Williams Greek Villa in the large open area and Simple White in the wood-burning stove room. The lighter walls with the black ceiling ended up being one of our favorite combinations in the house.
Lots of work went into this one—framing, drywall, electrical, flooring, trim, paint and all the little things that take a space from gutted to finished.
And now it’s officially market ready. 🏡
