๐ง **If Your Lawn Just Got Inches of Rain. When Should You Water Again?**
After Hurricane Isaias, your lawn may be completely soaked. But how do you know when it's time to turn those sprinklers back on?
๐ฑ **Try the Simple Soil Moisture Test!**
1. Wait until conditions are safe and any standing water has drained.
2. Insert a screwdriver approximately 4โ6 inches into the soil.
3. If it slides in easily and the soil feels moist, your lawn probably doesn't need more water.
4. If the soil is dry several inches down and your grass shows signs of drought stress, it may be time to resume watering.
๐ก **Did You Know?**
Too much water can deprive grass roots of oxygen, contribute to fungal disease, and weaken your lawn.
After significant rainfall, your lawn may not need supplemental watering for several days or longer, depending on soil type, temperatures, and drainage.
