⚡️ BIG OFFICE TRANSFORMATION IN CARTERSVILLE! ⚡️

Jay headed this one up, and he absolutely knocked it out of the park! 👊⚡️

This was a bigger commercial project in Cartersville, and the crew completely revamped the electrical side of this office space.

From the ceiling to the walls, we put in some serious work:

💡 Complete lighting upgrades throughout the office
🔌 Rewired and separated individual office spaces
⚡️ New circuits and electrical infrastructure
💡 Modern LED lighting throughout
🏢 Multiple office areas brought up and wired properly
🔧 Clean, professional finish from rough-in to completion

This one took more than just a couple of guys — it took the 1 Best Electric crew working together.

🔥 Jay — headed up the project and kept everything moving.
💪 Jeremy, Dean & Jerald — jumped in and helped get this bigger project across the finish line.

A project this size takes planning, teamwork, and attention to detail, and these guys put in the work!

⚡️ ANOTHER SERVICE UPGRADE IN MARIETTA! ⚡️

Dean & Jeremy are at it again! 💪🔌

This home had a tree limb come down and absolutely ripped the service apart, taking out the neutral and one leg of the service. 😳🌳⚡️

Our team got this home back up and running safely, while also bringing the electrical service up to current requirements.

✅ New meter/main disconnect
✅ New service equipment
✅ Proper grounding & bonding
✅ New smoke detectors
✅ Arc-fault protection
✅ GFCI protection where required
✅ Updated service wiring
✅ Corrected safety and code issues

Big shoutout to Dean & Jeremy for knocking this one out! 👊

Some electrical history still hard at work!

We came across this old electrical panel in Rome, Georgia, and it’s always fascinating to see equipment that’s been in service for so many decades. It’s a reminder of how far the electrical industry has come.

While it’s definitely a cool piece of history, older panels like this often lack the safety features found in today’s electrical systems. If your home or business still has an older panel, it may be worth having it inspected to ensure it’s operating safely and meeting your electrical needs.

Have you ever seen one this old still in service? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Monday Motivation 💪⚡

This poor guy! We love you, Deano. Although he probably wished he would’ve called in today, he still showed up and made it happen with a smile on his face!

Today’s adventure involved installing a generator cable in one sketchy crawl space. Tight quarters, dirt, sweat, and who knows what else under there 😂

Blue collar work… they say it ain’t for everyone, and they’re right. But hardworking guys like Deano are the reason the job gets done no matter what. Proud of this crew every single day. 👊

⚡ Electrical Panels We Commonly Recommend Replacing ⚡

If your home has one of these panels, it may be time to consider an upgrade for safety, reliability, and insurance reasons:

🚨 Zinsco Panels
• Known for breakers failing to trip during overloads
• Breakers can melt to the bus bar and continue conducting power
• Obsolete and replacement parts are limited

🚨 Federal Pacific (FPE / Stab-Lok) Panels
• High documented failure rates where breakers may not trip properly
• Increased fire risk due to loose connections and overheating
• Many insurance companies flag these panels during underwriting

🚨 Challenger Panels (especially with Zinsco-style main breakers)
• Aging components can overheat and fail
• Some breaker models had recalls
• Parts are obsolete and reliability is a concern

🚨 Split-Bus Panels
• No single main breaker to shut off all power
• Outdated design that can create confusion during emergencies
• Often found in older homes and due for modernization

🚨 Fuse Panels
• Older technology not built for today’s electrical demands
• Often overloaded with modern appliances
• Harder to insure and upgrade

If you’re unsure what type of panel you have, or would like a FREE estimate, call 1 Best Electric today.

Your electrical panel is the heart of your home’s electrical system—don’t wait until it becomes a safety issue.
