I grew up catholic. I was an alter boy, had my first holy communion and went to mass every Sunday.
After my parents split I Joined the Mormon church in my teens. I served a 2 year Mormon mission when I was 20 and spent almost 20 years in the Mormon faith.
After my divorce I went into my “wilderness.” I decided to take my head out of the books and look heavenward. I went on a journey to build a relationship with God and to truly come to know Christ.
I’ve never been as close to divinity than I am now. I subscribe to no religion yet I’m as spiritual as I’ve ever been in my 44 years on this rock. I witness miracles daily and I converse with the almighty no different than I commune with the checkout clerk at the grocery store. It’s a special place to be and I’m infatuated with this part of my spiritual walk and calling.
Today I went to church for the first time in years. It was a pleasure to hear the pastor talk about how religion isn’t the calling, but the connection was. It was refreshing to hear another man of God encouraging people to go on their own journey to meet and connect with God. It was incredible to bring my sons and to discuss with them how they felt and their takeaway. Today was also special because I got to hear my dear friends share their witness. Having my dearest friends build a relationship with God is fun to watch and special to be a part of.
God is good.
This life is a beautiful experience and we have been incredibly blessed to live in this moment of time.
Come as you are my friends. No one is broken. No one is too far gone.
YOU ARE PERFECT IN THE EYES OF GOD.
What a blessing it is.
