SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT ✨ Designed by Randy Angell Designs and built by AquaTerra Outdoors, this project transformed a blank-slate backyard into a breathtaking resort-inspired outdoor living and entertainment haven tailored for a growing young family. The vision was to create an inviting space with zones for relaxation, play, and social gatherings, all centered around a stunning infinity-edge pool and spa elevated three feet above the home’s patio level—a unique challenge that required meticulous planning to safeguard the home against any potential flooding.

The design highlights include a striking 24-foot-long, 7-foot-tall water wall that captivates visitors from the moment they step through the front door. The sports zone on the property’s east side features a multi-purpose sports court and ample space for activities like co****le and ping pong, making it a perfect space for family fun.

At the heart of the backyard is a sunken, covered cabana, seamlessly blending leisure and function. This space boasts a swim-up bar on the poolside and a counter facing the sports court, multiple TVs, refrigerators, and plenty of storage for effortless entertaining. High-quality materials and thoughtful design details harmonize to deliver a luxurious yet practical outdoor retreat for family and friends alike.

Rather than overwhelming the property with expansive hardscape, we intentionally minimized concrete and allowed the landscape to become one of the home’s defining features. SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT ✨ Our Balboa project has a few awards under its belt and we definitely know why! 🏆 This North Dallas backyard is functionality and fun all in one. Here’s some insight into the client’s needs and how we brought this space to life.

This client came to us looking for something different, a space that felt personal, bold, and completely custom. They trusted our team to push creative boundaries, and we delivered an outdoor environment that blends luxury and livability. Their vision? An entertainment space designed to host friends, family, and gatherings year-round.

We began by studying the topography and expansive views, using both to guide the layout. Every element from the pool and spa to the outdoor living zones was designed to feel like a natural extension of the home. The architecture leans modern farmhouse with transitional elements, so we echoed that character with clean lines, warm materials, and intentional landscape touches that elevate the overall aesthetic.

A key part of our design strategy was cohesion. We matched colors and finishes from the interior to the exterior, creating flow and visual harmony. The result is a low-maintenance, high-impact space that feels modern, welcoming, and completely dialed in.
