Good thing it's delivery route day 1. The cooler racks are filled and the floor is nearing the same state. Florists who buy local are just the best!

Good Monday morning! Blackberry season begins and we hunker down to harvest. 😂 Sometimes you have to get out of the flower fields.

While gladiolus aren't a flower we currently have in production for florists, we still have some in our landscape and they're quite a thing to behold. Are any of your landscape plants taking your breath lately?

Can you believe these are *dried* larkspur?! How dreamy. We aim for very little wasted product around here so these dried florals will play a big role in our cooler months.

Perhaps the happiest flowers of them all: the sunflower. Or, as we affectionately call them, the sunnies.

Planted closer together, we are able to adjust their size. This year we are aiming for a 3-5 inch bloom head so our florists can fit them easily into their work more easily than the thick stemmed giant bloom heads that tend to grow when the spacing is wider.

A break from our flower content: Visiting Arlington National Cemetery just before Memorial Day was a special experience. We are very grateful for those who gave all defending our nation.

Happy Saturday! Today, weather depending, I (Jessica) will be getting back in the fields after a week away on a family trip.

While there's so much beauty in our fields right now, enjoy these later blooming peonies straight from George Washington's Mt. Vernon gardens! One of the many floral beauties we saw on our travel adventure.

Happy Friday!

Veronica has been a favorite spike flower this season. Did you know that you can create a better looking vase of flowers by thinking about filling a few basic categories?

1. Greenery: makes flowers pop, in my humble opinion, but can be omitted for a flower forward look
2. Focal: usually a bigger or more showy round flower
3. Filler: other colors to fill up space around focals
4. Spike or line: creates height and visual interest
5. Shimmer/sparkle/airy: this one is optional but is so much fun to decide on. Think a few seed pods or some floaty cosmos above the main shape of the bouquet. This is where you can really make use of foraged or textural elements
