The team behind the projects 🤍

We spend a lot of time talking about the work, the process, and the details that go into each project. But this is the group making it all happen.

Different strengths, different perspectives, all working toward the same goal.

We care a lot about what we do and who we do it with.

And it just so happens that we’re all dog people 🐾

Today should be a really easy day.

And then the phone rings.

Projects are always a bit of a moving target, and things tend to come up at the exact moment you weren’t planning for them.

You learn to be ready for it, adjust quickly, and keep things moving.

Wouldn’t have it any other way… most days 🤪

Running a business means wearing a lot of hats.

Some days that’s design, site visits, and coordination.
Other days it’s making sure we actually share what we’re doing.

I care a lot about showing the real side of these projects as they move from concept to installation.
And yes… sometimes that means posting content in the middle of everything else.

Thanks for following along our journey!

Anyone else 😅

Running a business is totally normal.
No weird side effects at all.

Some days are a little crazy but we love what we do.

We were just out here and things are moving fast.

The gate + masonry wall into the pool/pool house are going in right now… which is one of those moments where it really starts to come together.

This project has a May deadline so everyone is busy busy busy!

Most of the work that makes a project successful happens before it ever looks impressive.

This is that part.

The unexpected personality shift no one prepares you for.

One minute you’re picking finishes.
The next you’re evaluating soil compaction and water flow.

Building changes you.

Be honest… what’s the one thing you suddenly cared way too much about?

We get this question all the time.

“What do you guys do in the winter?”
“Do you just wait for construction to start again?”
“Are you out there doing snow removal?”

Short answer: no.

When construction pauses, our work shifts.

Winter is when we’re:

• reviewing what was accomplished before the weather turned
• coordinating sequencing with builders and trades
• problem-solving field adjustments
• refining details that need more clarity
• aligning on expectations so nothing feels rushed later

A lot of the smoothest parts of a project actually get organized during this season.

So when it warms up, everyone isn’t scrambling. They’re executing.

If you’re building this year, let’s start planning now before the seasons gets in full swing.

We were just talking about this the other day.

This phase is tedious.

There are so many small construction details in this project. Things most people will never notice.

But this is when the early planning either holds up… or doesn’t.

Once concrete is poured, it’s permanent.

This is the part that makes the finished project feel easy.

There are two types of people:

People who haven’t built yet.
And people who notice slope everywhere.

After you’ve been through one real construction project, you can’t unsee it.

You notice:
• where water will sit
• where it will run
• where someone definitely did not plan ahead

You start walking into someone’s backyard thinking,
“Hmm… I hope that drains.”

That’s what happens when you learn what actually drives a project.

It’s not just finishes.
It’s not just plants.
It’s grade, drainage, sequencing, and planning.

And once you understand that, you’ll never look at landscaping the same again.

If you’ve built before… what’s the one thing you can’t unsee now?

When construction pauses for winter, the project doesn’t.

This is when we:

• Review what was completed before weather hit
• Refine sequencing and schedule with contractors
• Solve field adjustments before they become permanent
• Align builder, trades, and homeowner expectations
• Clarify details that still need resolution

Winter is where projects either drift or get sharper.

Permanent decisions should not be rushed. Especially when the investment is significant.

If you’re building this year, planning is happening now.
