Central Indiana Chapter NECA

Central Indiana Chapter NECA NECA advances the electrical contracting industry through advocacy, education, research, and standards development.

The National Electrical Contractors Association is the voice of the $130 billion industry responsible for lighting, power, and communication systems in buildings and communities across the United States. Central Indiana NECA is dedicated to enhancing our local industry through continuing education, industry and legislative updates, promotional activities, and labor relations with our partners, the

International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. We are the voice of the electrical contracting industry, working to promote higher standards, quality workmanship, and training for a skilled workforce. At all levels, NECA provides non-labor relations services to contractors, including detailed publications and workshops on virtually every aspect of the electrical construction industry. We develop new publications and new training events in response to the latest industry trends and member needs. Working for a brighter future for the industry, NECA is a co-sponsor of the IBEW-NECA Electrical Training Alliance for the electrical industry (formerly the NJATC), which trains more than 25,000 electrical apprentices and is the sole source of significant in-service training for journeyman electricians.

Strong estimating skills play a critical role in the success of electrical construction projects — and this week, CIC NECA members continued building those skills through our Advanced Estimating course at the Marriott Indianapolis North.

Over the two-day program, attendees explored strategic bidding practices, project risk evaluation, labor productivity considerations and real-world estimating scenarios designed to strengthen both technical knowledge and leadership skills. Through collaborative exercises and hands-on discussions, participants gained valuable insights into the decision-making processes that drive successful projects and profitable outcomes.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a great two days of learning and collaboration.

There's skill behind every wire run, every connection, every system powered.

And there’s risk, too.

This Electrical Safety Month, we recognize the professionals who put safety at the forefront of everything they do.

The ones who take the extra step, double-check the work, and look out for the person next to them. NECA members understand that safety is more than a standard – it’s a mindset that protects our people and strengthens our industry.

Let’s continue to raise the bar and look out for one another, on every job and every day.

Mental Health Awareness Month is an important reminder that the strength of our industry starts with the well-being of our people.

In electrical construction, the work is demanding – long hours, tight deadlines, and high-stakes environments. That’s why prioritizing mental health is essential.

At Central Indiana NECA, we’re committed to supporting our members in building not only strong projects, but strong teams. That means fostering open conversations, reducing stigma, and ensuring our workforce has access to the resources they need.

A healthier workforce is a safer, more productive workforce that’s built to last.
