Results from our winter sowing workshop are in!
In early January we started these babies from seed.
Step 1: procure empty plastic jugs 🥛
Step 2: cut plastic jug in half just under the handle and poke drainage holes in the bottom ✂️
Step 3: fill the bottom half of your jug with soil 🪴
Step 4: sow your seeds according the instructions on the seed packet 🌱
Step 5: water 💦
Step 6: tape the jug closed, label what seeds you started and remove cap 🏷️
Step 7: set your jug outside and forget about it
We will plant these outdoors in the next couple of weeks!
The winter sowing method works best with cold hardy plants. We started lupine, penstamon, rudbekia, and sweet peas.
