We are growing Artichokes in the testing part of the garden this year. We are hoping to have some available this summer.

Started a bunch of tomato plants today! I shared some pictures of the process. 😊

1. I sifted out the large pieces from my seed starting mix so that I had really fine soil to start the seeds in.

2. Add water and mix it up. You want to add enough water that it is thoroughly moist. Your potting mix should make a ball when squeezed but not be dripping water.

3. Fill all of the seed starting cells. Then I use a little tool to make a little indent for the seed.

4. Be sure to label what variety you planted and the date you planted it. I also like to list days to maturity.

5. I like to spray the top with a little bit of warm water to get the germination started.

6. Watch the little babies grow. ❤️

Some of these babies will be looking for new homes this spring let me know if there's a certain variety you would like and I will save them for you. 🍅

Exciting things are happening around here!!!

I will also sell a limited number of shares out of my garden this year! They are basically CSA boxes that run from June until September. You get a variety of in-season crops through the growing season. I will be selling these for $400 for the full season. Let me know if you want one. ❤️

Today I made a row greenhouse. Now to experiment to see the temperature difference underneath versus air temperature. Let's see how fast the snow melts underneath. ❤️

Very exciting. I started several seeds yesterday! I will have plants available for sale this spring. Just a few of the things I started yesterday. For vegetables I started green onions, bulb onions, and celery. I also started a long list of fruits. I started seaberry or sea buckthorn, golden currents, haskaps, chokeberry, goji berry, huckleberry, elderberry, strawberry, blackberry, thornless red raspberries, and mulberries.

I took a year off last growing season and I am ready to grow a bigger garden than ever before! Big enough to sell a few weekly garden boxes. Let me know if you are interested in purchasing a CSA box from me. Weekly box with a variety of veggies June - September.
