Happy Birthday to our girl steakvegas

Caroline has been a pillar to the success of Cosecha Textiles since 2022 coming in with a willingness to learn, a steadiness that is calming to be around, and a sense of humor that is just the right mix of silly goose and sarcasm.

Caroline, you are so loved not just by team Cosecha, but by SO MANY (as is evident in the amount of weddings you attend each year). We are lucky to have your talents and commitment in the workshop and can’t wait to see what new exciting things this next year will bring you!! 💛🦔🍂🍀💐💍

‼️JUST ONE SPACE LEFT ‼️

Don’t see your chair? Doesn’t mean it won’t work! Just text or email us a photo for approval before signing up!

Got a sad dining chair? Perfect. Bring it in—we’re going to make it cool again.

In this beginner-friendly, hands-on class, you’ll learn how to reupholster a simple slip seat dining chair from start to finish. We’ll strip it down, rebuild it where needed, and wrap it back up in something you actually want to look at every day.

No experience necessary—just a willingness to learn, use some tools, and make something with your hands.

What you’ll learn:

How to safely remove old fabric and assess what’s worth saving

The basics of foam, batting, and foundation materials

Proper fabric placement and cutting

Stapling techniques for a clean, professional finish

How to get those crisp corners (you know the ones)

What’s included:

All tools + equipment

Basic upholstery materials (foam, batting, staples, etc.)

Guidance every step of the way (with just enough tough love)

What to bring:

A simple slip seat dining chair (removable seat only—no fully upholstered frames)

Your fabric (or purchase from our shop at a discount)

Timeline:
One 5-hour session (with breaks, duh)

Price:
$185 per person

Good to know:

This class is designed for true beginners

If your chair is a little funky, send us a photo ahead of time and we’ll make sure it’s a good fit

Expect to leave with a finished (or very close to finished) seat and a new skill you’ll absolutely use again

Come make something useful, learn a new skill, and give your chair a second life.

We’ve been quiet on here mostly because I am the only one that posts (hi, it’s Claire!) and I took almost a month off to go on an epic road trip with my family to the Smoky Mountains. But Kirsten Hix and steakvegas keep the wheels turning for me while I was gone. I am SO GRATEFUL for these ladies.

We had a HUGE push before I left for Jenna Chused and then the gals finished up a few projects while I was away + had a big up valley site visit day to prepare for the next wave 🌊

We are now booking into February/March 2027 for larger jobs and can take on only a couple smaller jobs before the end of the year.

The ottoman class and intro to sewing class are FULL but there is still an opportunity to learn to sew with me at the The Art Base in November and a few other upholstery classes into the New Year, so check those out!

Thanks for following along. We love you and hope you are finding ways to feel peace in these wild and crazy times. Making things with your hands is a great way to tap into creative flow and find a sense of inner peace. Also taking a fun art class with a friend: highly recommend. Just sayin’ 😏

Impossible to capture just how cool, custom, and HUGE this modular sectional lounge is for the new Yoga Shala that will be coming soon to Woody Creek, CO!

Big blocks of foam covered in fabric primarily from Two Sisters Ecotextiles with one side of each in patchwork scraps meticulously curated by N.I.C.E. COLLECTIVE and assembled by steakvegas Kirsten Hix

Then mounted to a piece of MDF, upholstered, and finished with custom legs from Osprey Design Studio

I LOVED this project and am thinking this might have to be my next couch design someday. So simple and versatile and very comfortable!!

We even used the scraps from the scraps to make to go around the tea room table!

We are having A LOT of fun creating a very modular piece that will go to a new Yoga Shala coming soon to Woody Creek! The client came to us with this design inspo and we are making their custom vision come to life. The primary fabric is my absolute FAVORITE environmentally friendly brand Two Sisters Ecotextiles and then one small side of each block will feature scraps from our boneyard that are being meticulously patchworked together to make a beautiful earth-inspired palette. 🌎 ♻️

Later, the scraps from those scraps will be made into meditation cushions to surround the table in the tea room. 🍵 🫖 ☮️

Such a fun collaboration with N.I.C.E. COLLECTIVE. We are really excited to see how it turns out and who knows, maybe more of you will want one in the future? What a cool design, don’t you think? Would you want something like this in your space? Comment below 👇

Total transformation for this vintage settee for one of our favorite clients in a combination of fabrics finishing details designed by her!

We always love when clients come in and have fun playing and designing their own pieces because why not?!

Beautiful work by steakvegas

This sweet little settee was redone in a super fun fabric by Pindler

The dogs had chewed it up and steakvegas gave it a whole new look and life! What a transformation don’t you think?

I’m Claire and Cosecha Textiles is my baby.

More than just an upholstery workroom, is passionate about a lot of things and we’re on a mission to do more than to just reupholster your grandma’s old couch or make you that perfect custom built in seating area.

This sweet photo was taken by Elizabeth White during first Friday in downtown Carbondale. I am sitting on our scrap poufs (our in-house recycling program) where I had a little pop up earlier this month the day before my 40th birthday! I sat there for over an hour unable to really go anywhere else because so many of you stopped to chat, give me hugs and love, and I felt truly a part of this beautiful weird and artistic community.

Thanks for following along in my journey. Despite all the hard news that we’re constantly bombarded with I must say I feel a lot of hope when I look around this place and see all your faces smiling back at me. We are stronger together and I hope that my energy brings just a little more color and creative inspiration to your world 🌈
